This guided climb leads to the summit of Mount Pico, the highest peak in Portugal, located on Pico Island in the Azores. The full climb takes about seven hours. Certified guides from the Association of Azores Mountain Guides (AGMA) lead the group and continuously monitor each participant’s well-being throughout the ascent. The guides provide information about the volcano’s geological formation, as well as the local plants and animals encountered along the route. Included in the tour are entrance fees, hiking poles, Allianz® Personal Accident Insurance, and a certificate of achievement awarded upon reaching the summit. Meals are not included. The vehicle used for transport does not have air conditioning. Participants must wear proper mountain boots and suitable equipment; failure to comply may result in exclusion from the climb without refund. Good physical fitness and motor coordination are required. Participants should inform the organizers of any health issues such as heart conditions, asthma, pregnancy, or other relevant conditions before the climb. Diving is not allowed within 24 hours prior to the hike.
