Overview
This day trip begins just after midnight with a pickup from Surabaya or Malang. Travelers start by driving to the Mt. Bromo area where they transfer to a 4WD jeep for a ride to the sunrise viewpoint inside Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. At about 5:00 AM, the group watches the sunrise over Mount Bromo while having tea or coffee. Next, the tour moves to Widodaren Hill for photographs before heading down to the Sea Sand area. From there, a hike leads to the rim of Mount Bromo’s smoking crater. Following the hike, breakfast is served at Lava View restaurant. The tour continues to Madakaripura Waterfall, where visitors spend time viewing the cascade and the surrounding rocky terrain. Finally, the trip returns to Surabaya. If the traveler’s next destination is Malang, there is an option for a free hotel drop-off there. The entire tour lasts about 12 to 14 hours and includes private transportation, an English-speaking guide, all fees and taxes, breakfast, tea and coffee, and a 4WD jeep ride to the volcano viewpoint. Lunch, personal expenses, and travel insurance are not included.

The guide and driver pick up travelers at 00:05 (Midnight) from Surabaya or Malang. They travel by car to the Mt. Bromo area near a local village, then transfer to a jeep with the guide for the sunrise viewpoint.

At 2:30 AM, a jeep drives the group to the sunrise viewpoint inside the park. Visitors wait with a warm drink for the sunrise over Mount Bromo, which occurs around 5:00 AM. After sunrise, the group proceeds to Widodaren Hill for photo opportunities.

By 6:00 AM, the tour descends to the Sea Sand area. Travelers then hike to the rim of Mount Bromo’s smoking crater. After the hike, breakfast is served at Lava View restaurant before returning to the vehicle.
