Overview

This full-day tour from Tokyo lasts about 10 hours and includes visits to several locations around Mt. Fuji with an English-speaking guide. The tour begins with a ride on the Lake Kawaguchi Ropeway, also called the Lake Kawaguchi Panoramic Gondola, which takes about three minutes each way. The ropeway ascends to an altitude of 1,075 meters, where visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Lake Kawaguchi and Mt. Fuji. At the top, there is the Bell of Heaven, where visitors may ring the bell. If weather conditions prevent the ropeway from operating, the tour substitutes a boat ride on Lake Kawaguchi or refunds the ropeway ticket. Next, the tour includes about 90 minutes at Lake Kawaguchi itself, located 830 meters above sea level with a surface area of 5.7 square kilometers. Visitors can walk along the shoreline and see reflections of Mt. Fuji in the water. The Kachikachi Mountain Cable Car ride is included during this stop. The cable car operates from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on weekdays and until 5:00 PM on weekends and holidays, but may be suspended due to weather; if so, a boat ride on Lake Kawaguchi replaces it or a refund is given. After Lake Kawaguchi, the tour spends about one hour at the Lake Kawaguchi Konohana Museum for a matcha-making experience. A local teacher instructs visitors on how to prepare matcha tea, which they then taste. Following this, there is a 30-minute visit to Oishi Park by Lake Kawaguchi, where seasonal flowers such as lavender in summer and kochia grass in autumn can be seen. The final stop is Oshino Hakkai, where the tour spends about one hour. Oshino Hakkai is a site of eight clear springs formed by Mt. Fuji’s snowmelt, designated as a Natural Monument of Japan. Visitors can view the springs with Mt. Fuji in the background. The tour includes driver service fees, vehicle fuel, tolls, and other vehicle-related fees. Food, drinks, accommodation, and personal expenses are not included. Daily departures are available with a minimum of one participant. Travel time from Tokyo is included in the total duration.
