Overview

This full-day bus tour lasts about 9 and a half hours and covers Tenerife’s Mt. Teide, Masca Valley, and surrounding villages. The journey begins with hotel pickup and proceeds through Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its volcanic landscapes. The group stops at Vilaflor, one of Europe’s highest villages, for a brief visit. At Los Roques de Garcia, there is a 20-minute walk around notable rock formations with views of Mount Teide and the surrounding basin formed by volcanic activity. The tour then pauses for five minutes to view the Chiñero volcano lava fields, the site of Tenerife’s last eruption in 1906. In Icod de los Vinos, the group spends 30 minutes at Parque del Drago to see the famous dragon tree estimated to be 3,000 years old, along with a short visit to the village’s traditional church and plaza. The next stop is Masca Valley, where there is 30 minutes to explore this small village located on a western cliff with views over a deep gorge leading down to Los Gigantes. The final stop is Garachico, the island’s original port before a volcanic eruption in 1706 destroyed much of it. Here, guests have about 40 minutes to walk through the town center or relax in the plaza. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, and the vehicle features air conditioning. Lunch is not provided but guests can buy food locally or bring their own. The itinerary may change depending on weather or other conditions, and the tour is guided by a multilingual local guide.
