Overview

This bus tour departs from downtown Nashville near the intersection of Rep. John Lewis Way South and Korean Veterans Blvd at either 9:00 AM or 12:00 PM. The 9:00 AM departure includes a 1.5-hour ride through Shelbyville, a town known for the Tennessee Walking Horse, followed by a 30-minute drive through rural areas into Moore County, one of the few counties in Tennessee where distilling was legal until recently. Upon arrival at the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, participants check in with a guide and take a 1 hour and 45 minute tasting tour at the historic George Green Barrel House. After the tour, those on the 9:00 AM departure have about 1.5 hours to walk around the small square of downtown Lynchburg, which is a 5-minute walk from the distillery. During this time, visitors can find lunch on their own, visit the White Rabbit Bottle Shop for limited-edition whiskey bottles, or browse Jack Daniel's merchandise at the local general store. The 12:00 PM tour does not include time to explore or eat lunch in Lynchburg, so participants should eat before boarding. Transportation is provided on an air-conditioned coach bus, executive bus, minibus, or a high-roof 15-passenger van depending on group size. The tour returns to Nashville around 4:00 PM after leaving Lynchburg at 2:30 PM. A professional driver and guide accompany the group throughout the trip. There are no restrooms on the bus, so participants should plan accordingly. The tour lasts about 7 hours in total and requires ascending and descending many steps, so it is not recommended for those with mobility challenges. Participants must be 21 or older and present valid government-issued photo ID.
