Next, the tour visits the Queen’s Staircase, a limestone stairway of 66 steps carved by slaves in the late 1700s. Fort Fincastle, built in 1793 by Lord Dunmore to defend Nassau from pirates, and Fort Charlotte, a British colonial fort over 200 years old on a hill above the harbor, are also included. The tour continues to John Watling’s Distillery, a historic estate established in 1789 known for its rum and vodka, where free Pina Colada samples are offered. Visitors then stop at Junkanoo Beach to take photos, observe cruise ship traffic, and optionally join water sports.
