This half-day sea kayak and snorkel tour at Ningaloo Reef lasts about 3 and a half hours. Participants paddle double sit-on-top kayaks through the Bundegi Sanctuary Zone, a protected area known as a nursery for marine life. The shallow waters offer chances to see turtles, rays, and juvenile reef sharks. Guests can snorkel directly from their kayaks among the sheltered coral formations. Groups are usually limited to 8 people but can accommodate up to 16. Tour times vary daily based on tides; the operator can provide current schedules on request. The tour includes snorkel gear such as snorkel, mask, fins, and wetsuits during the season. Guides provide complimentary photos throughout the trip. Transportation is arranged with pick up and drop off from accommodations in Exmouth town. Safety equipment like life jackets and sun protection items including long sleeve shirts, broad brim hats, and polarized sunglasses are supplied. Light snacks are offered during the outing. Participants should bring their own drinking water, towel, and sunscreen, preferably reef-safe. Dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice. Kayaks have a maximum individual weight limit of 110 kilograms. Children aged 8 to 17 may join only if accompanied by an adult. Itinerary
We make the short drive (10 minutes) to our tour launch point in the Bundegi Sanctuary Zone, amongst the northern stretches of World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef. Upon arrival, we'll kit you out with all the gear you'll need, and after a quick familiarisation with your kayak and a safety briefing, we'll head out for a paddle. Look for juvenile turtles, rays, schools of fish and even baby reef sharks in the shallows from your kayak in this area known as Ningaloo's nursery. After some kayaking, we'll head a little way offshore and tie off to some 'kayak only' snorkel moorings to slip over the side of your kayak and explore the coral reef and amazing underwater life, including schools of fish and green turtles. The kayaking and snorkelling is suitable for novices, with our experienced guides on hand to point out interesting creatures and make you feel at ease. A snack stop on the beach gives the opportunity to rest and refuel. All guests must be able to understand sufficient English to comprehend basic safety instructions delivered in English only. Guests that cannot understand basic safety instructions delivered in English may be removed from the tour.
