Queen Kapiʻolani Regional Park is Hawaii’s largest and second-oldest public park. Established in 1877 after King Kalākaua sought a permanent horse racing course, it has been managed by Honolulu’s Department of Parks & Recreation since 1913. The park forms a natural border between Waikiki and the Diamond Head neighborhood.
