Overview

This tour takes place on the beachfront farmland of North Shore Stables in Waialua, Oahu. It lasts about one hour and begins with a safety briefing and helmet fitting. Each guest drives their own 2022 Kawasaki 4-wheel ATV on a dedicated track that covers 80 acres along the North Shore coastline. During the ride, participants learn about Kapukapuakea, a site with a 1,000-year history connected to Taputapuatea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Each guest selects one of 49 native Hawaiian shoreline plants and plants it on the restored beachfront to help prevent erosion and support sand dune formation. Visitors also meet local farm animals and receive information about Korean Natural Pig Farming used to organically restore the soil. The tour includes the use of an individual ATV, required helmets, and eye protection such as goggles or safety glasses; guests may also use their own sunglasses. Closed-toe shoes are required but not provided; rubber boots are available for rent. The terrain can be dusty and muddy, so guests should wear clothes suitable for dirt.
