Overview

This walking tour in Old Tbilisi lasts about four hours and covers several key landmarks and tastings. The tour begins with a 30-minute visit to Narikala Fortress, where visitors can see views of the city and learn about the main fort's history. Next, the group walks to the Rezo Gabriadze Marionette Theater for a 20-minute stop to observe the detailed handcrafted features of the clock tower. The tour then crosses the Bridge of Peace, a modern glass and steel structure, pausing there for 15 minutes. Afterward, participants walk through the rocky Fig gorge to the Dzveli Tbilisi Sulphur Waterfall, spending 30 minutes by the waterfall. The next stop is the Anchiskhati Basilica, the oldest church in Tbilisi, where the group spends 30 minutes viewing the ancient stones and faded frescoes. A 5-minute aerial tramway ride (not included in the tour price) returns the group to the Narikala Fortress area. The tour continues along Jan Shardeni Street with a 20-minute wine tasting featuring two red and two white traditional Georgian wines at a local wine shop. The final stop is on Sioni Street at a historic bakery, where visitors spend 15 minutes tasting authentic Georgian pastries, including cheese pie (khachapuri), bean pie (lobiani), and a sweet cream pastry. Throughout the tour, participants also taste churchkhela sweets and traditional Georgian spices, totaling ten tastings. A professional local guide leads the group throughout the tour. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and the minimum drinking age is 18 years.
