by MagicalTrip
This four-hour cooking class in Osaka begins with a visit to a neighborhood supermarket used by local residents to select fresh ingredients. Participants then move to the MagicalTrip Original Cooking Studio, where a certified guide leads a step-by-step lesson in preparing three traditional Osaka dishes: okonomiyaki, a savory pancake with cabbage, pork belly, bonito flakes, and special sauce; niku-sui, a beef and tofu soup in a light dashi broth; and yaki-gyoza, pan-fried dumplings filled with pork and cabbage. After cooking, the group sits down to enjoy the meal alongside a tasting of four selected local sakes. Three canned drinks, alcoholic or non-alcoholic, are also included. Recipes are provided in downloadable form to recreate the dishes at home. The class is conducted in English and welcomes solo travelers, couples, families, and groups, with no prior cooking experience required.
