Overview

The Paraty Jipe 4x4 Tour by Jango to Waterfalls and Alambique with Guided Cachaça Tasting lasts about four to five hours and uses a 4x4 jeep (jipe) for transportation along parts of the Old Royal Road, also known as the Gold Way, through the Atlantic Forest and near Serra da Bocaina National Park. The tour begins at White Stone Farm, where visitors can see the Usina and White Stone waterfalls and swim in natural pools. Next, the jeep drives to either Alambique Paratiana or Pedra Branca distillery for a guided presentation on the production of Paraty cachaça. This includes tasting several varieties such as Gabriela cravo and cinnamon, along with local sweets. The route passes Fazenda Bananal, an old farm now focused on organic farming and sustainability. The tour continues to the Penha neighborhood to visit two well-known waterfalls, Tarzan and Tobogan. Tobogan waterfall features a natural water slide about 20 meters long and a cave behind the cascade. There is an optional lunch break at a forest restaurant near the Tarzan waterfall offering regional dishes like picacha, stew, muqueca, and seafood pasta. Optional stops may include the Church of Our Lady of Penha and the Engenho D'Ouro distillery for additional cachaça tastings. The tour passes near the entrance to the Poco dos Ingleses waterfall but does not stop there. A local guide accompanies the group throughout the tour.
