Overview
This full-day tour from Sharm el Sheikh includes a ferry crossing to Aqaba, Jordan, followed by a guided visit to Petra. Guests are picked up from their hotel and transferred to the port of Taba to board the ferry to Aqaba. Upon arrival, a 40-minute drive brings travelers to their guide, who leads the group to Petra. Visitors walk or ride horses through the rock gorge called the Siq, arriving at the Treasury, Petra’s most famous monument. The tour continues along the Street of Facades to the Roman Theater, the Royal Tombs, and Qasr al-Bint. Lunch is served as an open buffet in a local restaurant within Petra. After the meal, the group returns to Aqaba for about an hour of free time, which can be used for shopping or exploring. The return journey includes a transfer to the port of Aqaba to catch the ferry back to Taba, where guests are taken back to their hotels in Sharm el Sheikh. The entire excursion lasts about 22 to 24 hours and includes all admissions, lunch, and air-conditioned transport.
