The vehicle used for transport does not have air conditioning. Participants must wear proper mountain boots and suitable equipment; failure to comply may result in exclusion from the climb without refund. Mount-Pico-Ascent
Ascend Mount Pico, Portugal’s tallest peak at 2,351 metres, with a certified local guide. The route starts at Casa da Montanha near 1,230 metres and follows a steep, uneven volcanic trail about 8 km round trip with roughly 1,100 metres elevation gain. The climb lasts approximately 7 to 9 hours, depending on group speed, trail state, and weather. Terrain consists of solidified lava and volcanic rock, with some sections requiring careful footing and scrambling, so good physical fitness and coordination are necessary. The guide controls pace and safety while providing information on the mountain’s volcanic geology, biodiversity, and environment. Weather conditions such as wind, clouds, and precipitation are closely monitored to ensure safe progress.
