【Five Principles of Traffic Safety】 1. In principle, bicycles should be ridden on motor vehicle lanes; riding on sidewalks is only for special circumstances. ● You can only ride on the sidewalk when there is a sidewalk access sign (for ordinary bicycles only). ● If there is no flag, the following three situations are exceptions: ① Children under 13 years old (including primary school students and below), and seniors over 70 years old. ② People with physical disabilities. ③ Unavoidable circumstances (road construction, heavy traffic, narrow roads, etc.). 2. Bicycles should travel on the left side of the lane. ●Cycling on the left is a basic traffic rule. ●Driving on the right side of the lane increases the relative speed with cars, which is dangerous. ●For those normally driving on the left, right-hand traffic is equivalent to driving against traffic, which not only causes trouble for others, but also poses a danger at intersections where car drivers find it difficult to detect bicycles. 3. Sidewalks should give way to pedestrians. ●When driving on the sidewalk, you should prioritize yielding to pedestrians and slow down on the side closer to the roadway. ●Please walk your bicycle where there are pedestrians. 4. Observe the safety rules. ●In Japanese law, bicycles are also considered a type of vehicle and are classified as light vehicles. ●Also obey traffic and parking rules, just like a car. ● Especially at intersections, sufficient safety checks should be ensured. ● The first step in a safety check is to make eye contact with car drivers and pedestrians to express your intentions. ●Yielding to each other with a friendly attitude is the key to safe cycling. 5. Do not drink and drive. ●Just like bicycles and cars, drunk driving will be severely punished, potentially facing imprisonment for up to 5 years or a fine of up to 1 million Japanese Yen. ●When going out for drinks, choose smart ways to get home, such as walking or using public transportation. ● By appropriately communicating one's presence to those around them, one can increase their own safety. ●Bicycles, like cars, must have their lights on at night. ●Porocle's lights can automatically sense dim light and turn on automatically, so you can use your bicycle with confidence. Unless explicitly permitted by road signs or similar, bicycles must not be ridden parallel to other bicycles. ●Do not ride a bicycle while using an umbrella, handheld items, or anything else that obstructs your vision or makes your line of sight unstable. ● Do not ride a bicycle while wearing headphones, headsets, or other devices that prevent you from hearing surrounding sounds. ● Do not hold a mobile phone to talk or operate buttons while driving.
