Overview

This 2-hour guided walking tour covers key sights in Poznań’s Old Town and Imperial District. The tour begins in the Old Town, where the guide leads the group past the Town Hall, Old Market Square, the Royal Castle, and other notable buildings. The guide provides historical information, local legends, and details about Polish cuisine during the walk. The tour continues to Liberty Square, a 19th-century area known for its impressive architecture. Next, the group sees the Raczynski Library, one of Poland’s oldest and largest libraries, followed by the Bazar Poznanski building, the National Museum, and several theaters, including the Theatre of Poland and Teatr Wielki im. Stanislawa Moniuszki. Religious sites visited include Kosciol Najswietszego Zbawiciela, the Church of St Martin, and the Parish Church of St. Stanislaus (Fara Church), with possible entry to the latter if conditions allow. The tour also includes stops at the June 1956 Events Monument, Collegium Maius and Collegium Minus buildings, and the Zamek Cultural Center. The final part of the tour takes place in the Imperial District, where the group views the Imperial Castle, known as the youngest imperial residence in Europe. All sites are viewed from the outside unless otherwise noted. The walking pace allows time to listen and observe at each stop. Entrance fees are not included.
