Overview

This private day trip lasts about 18 to 19 hours and departs from Hurghada, including Makadi Bay, Soma Bay, Sahl Hasheesh, and Elguna. The trip starts with a visit to the Pyramids of Giza, located on the western edge of the Nile Valley. These structures, dating from around 2620 to 2500 BC, are among the oldest surviving monuments in the world. Visitors spend about two hours here viewing the pyramid complex. Next, the group drives to the Great Sphinx, a limestone statue with a lion's body and a human head, built approximately between 2520 and 2494 BC. The Sphinx still shows traces of original paint on its ears. An Egyptologist accompanies the trip to explain the history and details of these landmarks. Afterward, the tour continues to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, located on Al-Tahirr Square downtown. This museum, opened in 1902, holds the world's largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, with over 150,000 items displayed across two floors and more than 100 rooms. Highlights include objects from various excavations, the gold mask of Pharaoh Psusennes I, a large assortment of items from Tutankhamun’s tomb, and artifacts from Queen Hetepheres I’s tomb. The museum also exhibits mummies, coffins, tomb furnishings, and jewelry from different dynasties. The final part of the excursion is a city tour of Cairo, showing other sides of the megacity. Bottled water and lunch are included. Drinks at the restaurant and entry to the pyramids' interior are not included.
