Overview

Angthong National Marine Park consists of 42 islands with limestone cliffs, caves, lagoons, and beaches. This private full-day tour aboard the 78-foot Red Dragon Classic Thai Yacht begins on the southwest coast of Koh Samui. The teak wood yacht has a traditional sail, a sun deck, a lounge and dining area, an onboard jacuzzi, restrooms, and WiFi. The cruise also includes a galley chef and a dinghy for shore transfers. The journey passes the Five Islands, where bird's nests are harvested. The first stop in the marine park is a remote area accessible only to this tour, where guests can kayak for about an hour along limestone cliffs, caves, tunnels, and a secret lagoon. A dinghy is available as an alternative to kayaking. The yacht then sails north beyond the marine park waters to Koh Wao, one of Thailand’s top 20 snorkeling sites. After a safety briefing, guests use snorkeling equipment for a guided underwater tour of the coral reef and marine life. Non-swimmers and children can stay in a netted floating raft for safety. Returning toward the marine park, the yacht passes Ko Lao Yu and other limestone islands while guests enjoy a buffet lunch onboard. The route includes views of Koh Thong Thaeng and Ko Wa Noi, continuing to Ko Mae Ko to see the Blue Lagoon (Talay Nai), a saltwater lake enclosed by cliffs and a natural nursery for marine species. Visitors can climb steep stairs to a viewpoint with panoramic views of the islands or relax on the beach. The tour also passes Ko Sam Sao, known for its natural stone bridge and sandy beaches, and Ko Wua Talap, the marine park headquarters. On the cruise back to Koh Samui, the yacht passes Phaluai Island, home to a community of sea gypsy fishermen. Guests can enjoy drinks, banana splits, or a swim in the jacuzzi while watching the sunset. The tour lasts about 8 and a half hours and includes breakfast, lunch, carbonated beverages, tea, coffee, bottled water, towels, snorkeling gear, use of kayaks, dinghy transfers, life vests, a netted raft for non-swimmers, full insurance, and round-trip hotel transfers. Optional sea kayak rental and admission fees are not included.
