Overview

Cairo is home to some of Egypt’s most famous ancient sites, including the Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx. This full-day private tour lasts about 8 and a half hours and includes transportation with hotel pickup and drop-off. A licensed Egyptologist guide speaks English and provides detailed explanations and lesser-known information about the historical locations. The tour starts with pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza. You head first to the Pyramids of Giza, the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing, where the guide explains their construction and mysteries. Next, visit the Great Sphinx, built during Pharaoh Chephren’s time, including the nearby temple known as the temple of mummification. Here, you can take photos and then enjoy a 30-minute camel ride around the pyramids to see the area’s views. The experience continues with a quad bike safari around the pyramids of Cheops, Mykerinus, and Chephren, riding outside the pyramid area. Afterward, the tour stops at a local Egyptian restaurant for lunch. Then travel about 27 kilometers southwest of Cairo to Saqqara to see the Step Pyramid of King Zoser, a key step in pyramid evolution. The final archaeological visit is to Memphis, the ancient capital dating back to 3100 B.C., where you will see the statue of Ramses II and the Great Alabaster Sphinx. The tour ends with transfer back to your hotel in Cairo or Giza. Entrance fees are not included.
