Overview

This private day trip lasts about 8 to 11 hours and departs daily from either Hanoi city or Halong harbour at Tuan Chau Marina. The tour includes a cruise on Halong Bay aboard a traditional junk boat with a seafood lunch served on board. You will visit Thien Cung Grotto, also called Heaven Palace grotto, known for its numerous stalagmites and stalactites, and optionally Dau Go Cave, known as Wooden Stakes cave, on the same island. The tour also stops at Ba Hang floating village where you can take a kayak or a bamboo sampan boat rowed by locals to explore water caves surrounded by limestone islands. Along the cruise, the boat passes Hon Ga Choi Island, famous for its two small islets shaped like fighting cocks, and Hon Dinh Huong Island, which resembles an incense burner and is featured on the back of the 200,000 Vietnamese Dong banknote. Round-trip private transfer between Hanoi and Halong Bay is included for selected options, as well as entrance fees, cave tickets, kayaking or bamboo boat rides, and a licensed English-speaking guide with at least five years of experience. Transport from Hanoi is not included if the shared harbour pickup option is chosen. Drinks, tips, and personal expenses are excluded.

Arrival at Ha Long Bay is around 12:00 noon, followed by a 4-5 hour cruise including a seafood lunch. After lunch, visitors walk up to the middle of the island to explore Thien Cung cave, also called the Palace of Heaven Grotto, which contains numerous stalagmites and stalactites resembling animals.

Hon Ga Choi Island

This island is a symbol of Halong Bay. It features two small islets that resemble two fighting cocks. The boat travels around these islets for viewing and photo opportunities.
