Overview

San Su Ancestral Temple Scenic Area San Su Ancestral Temple Scenic Area is located in the South Section of Shahu Xing, Dongpo District, Meishan City, Sichuan Province, China, about 80 kilometers away from Chengdu and more than 90 kilometers away from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. It is the former residence of Su Xun, Su Shi, and Su Zhe, three literary masters of the Northern Song Dynasty. It is a world-important cultural heritage site and a living model of ancient Ming and Qing architectural gardens. The scenic area covers an area of about 68 acres. As the "peak representative of Chinese classical literati ancestral halls," it takes the three main building complexes of Qixian Hall, Mujia Mountain Hall, and Ruilian Pavilion as its core, completely preserving the handwritings of the father and sons, the millennium Danli ancient trees and other cultural symbols, witnessing the "reading as a career, filial piety, kindness and love" of the San Su family tradition. The park is full of ancient trees, lotus ponds and cloisters, condensing the essence of Song-style gardens in a square inch, and the millennium cultural context flows in the steles forest and ink fragrance. It enjoys the reputation of "a family of father and sons, three poets, and four great masters of ancient literature."
