Overview

This small-group day trip from San Francisco lasts about 10 hours and includes a driver/guide with hotel pickup and drop-off from select hotels. The tour begins with a 30-minute stop at the Golden Gate Bridge for photos. Next, the group spends 45 minutes walking and shopping along the Sausalito boardwalk by the San Francisco Bay. The tour then travels to Armstrong Redwood State Reserve for a 90-minute walk among some of the tallest and oldest redwood trees in Northern California. This forest has 1500-year-old, 300-foot redwoods and is less crowded than Muir Woods. After the forest visit, there is a brief 10-minute stop at Bodega Bay to see the schoolhouse featured in Hitchcock’s film "The Birds." Lunch is purchased in the small timber town of Duncans Mills during a 30-minute stop. Weather permitting, the group continues along the California coast to Goat Rock Beaches for a 45-minute picnic by the ocean, at the location where the final scene of the movie "Goonies" was filmed. The day ends back in Sausalito, where travelers may choose to return to San Francisco by ferry or with the group by vehicle. Food, drinks, gratuities, and ferry tickets are not included. Children 8 years and under must use car seats brought by guests.
