Overview

The Rocky Mountain National Park Safari Tour lasts three hours and begins in historic downtown Estes Park at 7,500 feet elevation. Guests ride in Green Jeeps that seat up to 10 people; larger groups are divided among multiple vehicles. The tour travels through meadows, aspen groves, rivers, and alpine lakes within Rocky Mountain National Park. In summer and fall, the route continues onto the alpine tundra above 12,000 feet, using Old Fall River Road, which opens after July 4, and Trail Ridge Road when weather permits. The tour includes several stops: about two hours and twenty-five minutes are spent exploring the park’s natural areas, with a stop of approximately 20 minutes at the Alpine Visitor Center, which offers food, drinks, and souvenirs, followed by a 15-minute stop at the Alluvial Fan, a waterfall and boulder field accessible via a reconstructed trail. If certain roads or areas are closed, the guide adjusts the itinerary to visit other notable park locations. All park fees, taxes, and the Rocky Mountain National Park Pass with timed entry are included. Gratuities for the guide and non-US citizen park entrance fees are not included.
