Overview

This three-hour guided walking tour in Rome focuses on three major ancient sites: the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and the Roman Forum. The tour starts at the Colosseum, where a licensed English-speaking guide explains the history and engineering of this amphitheater, including its use for gladiatorial contests and naval battle reenactments. Visitors have the option to include access to the arena floor and can use headsets to hear the guide clearly. Next, the tour moves to Palatine Hill, the legendary founding site of Rome by Romulus in 753 BC. Here, the guide highlights the historical significance while guests can enjoy views over the Roman Forum. The final stop covers the Roman Forum and the Via Sacra, the main street of ancient Rome, where political, commercial, and religious activities took place. Throughout the tour, entrance tickets to all three sites are included, and an audio guide option is available for mobile phones. The itinerary may be adjusted but will cover all key locations within the scheduled time without waiting in lines.
