Overview

This small-group day tour lasts about 6 hours 45 minutes and travels from Edinburgh into the Scottish Borders by Mercedes 16-seat mini-coach. A professional driver and guide lead the group of up to 16 people. You first stop at Scott’s View, where you have about 20 minutes to see the landscape that Sir Walter Scott once favored, overlooking the Tweed Valley and the Eildon Hills. Next, the tour heads to Melrose Abbey for a 90-minute visit. This Gothic abbey is partly in ruins and is known as the burial site of Robert the Bruce’s heart. Due to ongoing safety inspections, some parts of the abbey might be closed during your visit. This stop also serves as the lunch break, though food is not provided. After Melrose, the tour goes to the 15th-century Rosslyn Chapel, where you spend around 90 minutes. This chapel is famous for its detailed stone carvings and links to myths about the “Holy Grail” and the Knights Templar, popularized by the novel The Da Vinci Code. From April 1, 2026, admission to Rosslyn Chapel is included in the tour price, with free entry for children accompanied by an adult. The tour also makes a 20-minute stop to view the 200-year-old William Wallace Statue, which overlooks the region. The route is reversed on Sundays. Entrance fees for Melrose Abbey and Rosslyn Chapel are not included until April 2026 when Rosslyn Chapel becomes included. Hotel pickup and drop-off are not part of the tour. Gratuities, food, and drinks are also not covered.
