This 2.5-hour walking tour in Salem visits five filming locations from the 1993 Disney movie Hocus Pocus in honor of its 31st anniversary. The route covers approximately three miles at a fast pace and includes stops at Salem Common, Salem Old Town Hall, Ropes Mansion and Garden (known as Alison's house in the film), Broad Street Cemetery, and ends at Salem 1630: Pioneer Village, the oldest living history museum in the United States. The group spends about fifteen minutes at both Broad Street Cemetery and Pioneer Village. Along the way, the guide provides information about the Salem Witch Trials, the city’s maritime history, and how Salem became known as the "Witch City." The tour is entirely outdoors with no building entries. The walk includes uneven terrain and is strenuous, so it is not recommended for people with back, knee, hip, respiratory, circulatory, or cardiac issues or recent surgeries. The tour finishes at Pioneer Village, which has an optional entrance fee of five dollars if visitors choose to enter; this site is typically open on weekends from June through October and may close due to weather or other conditions. Transportation back to downtown Salem is not included and must be arranged independently. The group size can be up to 40 people. There are no public restrooms along the route. Children must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. Participants should wear appropriate shoes and clothing for the weather, as the tour operates rain or shine.
