Overview

The Northern California wine region around Sonoma and Napa Valley is known for its vineyards and diverse wine styles. This full-day bus tour begins at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco and crosses the 1.7-mile Golden Gate Bridge, offering views of the San Francisco skyline and Alcatraz Island. The route continues through Marin County and into the wine country. The tour includes visits to three wineries, each with a distinct character. The first winery is family-owned, where traditional wine-making methods are explained and tastings are offered. At midday, the tour stops at either V. Sattui Marketplace in St. Helena or Sonoma Square, where guests have free time to dine, shop, or relax on the lawn. After lunch, the tour proceeds to a winery located in a higher elevation with a cooler microclimate, known for producing White Zinfandels. Guests learn how the region's climate influences grape growing and taste wines that reflect this difference. The final winery visited is in Napa Valley and features wines with old-world style, accompanied by views of the surrounding landscape. All wine tasting fees are included. The tour concludes with a return drive over the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. Winery stops may change due to availability or private events. Guests must reconfirm their booking online at least 72 hours before the tour. Those who arranged hotel pickup in San Francisco hostels need to confirm with the operator five days ahead following ticket instructions.
