by Guiding Galapagos Expeditions
This day-long boat tour lasts about seven hours and travels from Santa Cruz to Pinzón Island and La Fé/Palmitas Bay. Participants receive snorkel gear from the brands Cressi and Scubapro, along with wetsuits by O'Neill, available in short or long styles. The boat used is well maintained and comfortable, and the guide provides assistance throughout the trip. A freshly prepared lunch is served on board. The tour includes carbonated beverages and towels. Water taxis are used before and after the main boat trip for transfers. Alcoholic drinks and tips for the crew or guide are not included.
Snorkeling and Wildlife at Pinzón Island
The tour offers snorkeling at a prominent Galapagos location, featuring either two separate sessions or one extended snorkel. The initial snorkeling occurs in a calm, shallow natural pool before moving to deeper blue waters inhabited by species such as sharks, sea turtles, rays, sea lions, and marine iguanas. The second activity may be another snorkel at La Fé or, on rare occasions, a 45-60 minute guided walk through mangroves and areas with prickly pear and candelabra cacti. Observers can see a large colony of marine iguanas along with blue-footed boobies resting or fishing on rocks, as well as lava herons, pelicans, mockingbirds, Darwin finches, sea lions, and sally lightfoot crabs. Fishing from the boat is available, with big yellowfin tuna being the most common catch. A hot lunch and fresh ceviche are provided on board.
