Overview

Beachcombing is one of the most interesting experiences in Sanya. Stepping on the tidal flats, turning over rocks to find shells, you can harvest the gifts of the sea between the rising and falling tides. Haitang Bay, Dadonghai, Xiaodonghai, and Yalong Bay each have their own characteristics, suitable for novices and experienced players. This detailed guide will help you unlock the authentic fun of beachcombing. Haitang Bay: This is a unique sandbar peninsula landform. The vast tidal flats will only appear after the tide recedes. You need to take a boat to reach the other side. The density of seafood is high but slightly difficult. The seafood is mainly large sea snails and colorful shells, and you can occasionally encounter coral fragments, which is suitable for tourists who pursue an immersive experience. Novices can choose the Haitang Bay professional beachcombing base, equipped with one-on-one team leader teaching and a full set of equipment, guaranteed teaching, and a full refund for empty buckets, full of security. Note that Haitang Bay has strong winds and waves, and you must strictly follow the tide time and never go deep into the distant beaches without authorization. Dadonghai: The core area is Donghaijiao and Lover's Bay. Donghaijiao is a typical rocky beach. After the tide recedes, you can find cowries, sea glass, and small crabs in the crevices of the rocks, which combine beauty and fun. The shallow beach of Lover's Bay is open, where you can fish for starfish and small sea snails, and occasionally pick up rare small objects such as sea eggshells. There are many tourists here, and shellfish seafood is relatively scarce, making it more suitable for enjoying the beachcombing atmosphere rather than pursuing a good harvest. Xiaodonghai: Xiaodonghai is Sanya's recognized "beachcombing treasure land", with excellent ecological environment, gentle reefs, clear water and fine sand, taking into account safety and a sense of harvest, suitable for tourists of all ages. After the tide recedes, the reef group on the left is the core area. You can find crabs, sea snails, sea urchins, and sea cucumbers by turning over the rocks. The small holes on the beach are mostly the nests of razor clams and sand worms. You can harvest surprises by digging lightly with a shovel. Yalong Bay: Yalong Bay is famous for its glass sea and fine sandy beaches. The beachcombing experience focuses on "beautiful scenery + niche harvest". The sea water here is crystal clear, and you can pick up colorful mini shells and small sea snails after the tide recedes. Coral fragments can be found occasionally, and the photo output rate is extremely high. Compared with other bay areas, Yalong Bay has a lower density of seafood, making it more suitable for a play mode that focuses on enjoying the scenery and supplemented by beachcombing. The surrounding tropical vegetation is lush. You can stroll on the beach and feel the coconut breeze and sea charm during the beachcombing gap to create a relaxing and comfortable journey.

Highlights

The four major bay areas cover professional secret spots, seafood treasure lands, and scenic spots, allowing novices, experienced players, and photography enthusiasts to find their own exclusive sea foraging experience.
You can reap both seafood and scenery, unlocking surprises while immersing yourself in the unique scenery of coconut breeze, sea charm, and rocky beaches.
After foraging at the sea, you can process seafood nearby, feeling the island's atmosphere and wildness in one stop, from finding to tasting.

This activity has no age limit
Gloves: You must wear thick gloves! Prevent injury from being pinched by crabs or cut by sharp shells or coral. Non-slip shoes / rain boots: Slippers or bare feet are strictly prohibited. The surface of the reef is very slippery with moss, and there are often gravel and broken coral. Ordinary sneakers are easy to get wet and not slip-resistant. Rain boots are a good choice. Electric fishing and blast fishing are strictly prohibited, as is the use of chemical agents. It is prohibited to damage coral reefs and to catch protected animals (such as hawksbill turtles and giant clams). Take your trash with you: When leaving, please take all plastic bottles, packaging bags and other garbage with you to protect the marine environment. When beachcombing, please be sure to stay in safe areas and do not venture into deep sea areas without careful consideration. Pufferfish: If you catch a spiky fish (pufferfish) that's as round and puffy as a balloon, don't touch it, and definitely don't eat it! Its internal organs are highly poisonous. It is recommended to take a picture as a memento and then gently release it back into the sea. Sea snakes / Eels: If you see a long, black, strip-like creature deep in a crevice, do not reach in to grab it, as it is likely a sea eel or a sea snake. Crabs: When catching crabs, grab the sides of the back shell. Do not grab the claws, and do not catch young crabs that are too small (it is recommended to release them for sustainable development). If you see crabs or snails that are too small, or female crabs or snails carrying eggs in their abdomen, be sure to release them back into the wild to protect resources.
