Overview

The Secret Lagoon in Fludir offers entry to one of Iceland’s oldest natural hot springs, maintained at 38-40°C year-round. The 90-minute ticket allows guests to enter without waiting in line. The pool is fed by a natural hot spring that produces 10 liters of fresh water per second, keeping the water clean and warm. Visitors can enjoy the steam rising around the pool and, during winter, may see the Northern Lights from the warm water. The site includes modern changing rooms, showers, a café, and resting areas. Nearby geothermal activity includes a small Geysir that erupts every five minutes. Towels and swimwear can be rented at the reception if needed.

Secret Lagoon - Gamla Laugin

Originally built in 1891, Gamla Laugin was Iceland’s first swimming pool. It was largely unused for decades until the current owner restored it starting in 2005, initially as a private pool. The Secret Lagoon’s water is naturally heated by a hot spring that supplies 38-39°C water at 10 liters per second, continuously refreshing the pool. Facilities include changing rooms, showers, an outdoor deck, walkways, a small café, and a restaurant area. The renovated site reopened quietly in summer 2014.
