Book on Viator Confirmed right away, but you pay full price.$278This snorkeling tour takes place at Silfra, a fissure in Iceland’s Thingvellir National Park formed by the separation of the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. The fissure is known for its clear glacial water with visibility over 100 meters, fed by fresh, drinkable glacial streams that support unique aquatic life. The tour lasts about three hours and includes the use of snorkeling gear and hot chocolate after the swim. A certified PADI Divemaster or instructor guides the activity. Participants can choose between drysuit or wetsuit options, allowing members of the same group to select different suits if preferred. The guide also takes underwater photos during the snorkeling, which are included in the price. Participants meet on location and should bring appropriate outdoor clothing for Iceland’s weather. Food is not included.
Park at “Thingvellir P5” & walk 400m back along the road until you reach a smaller car park with all the snorkel & dive vans. Please be there, ready to meet your guide 15 min before your tour is due to begin. Stick to main roads & dont take any short cuts to Silfra, especially in winter.
