Overview

This Silfra wetsuit snorkeling tour takes place at the Silfra fissure in Iceland, near Reykjavik. The total duration is about three hours. Participants meet directly at the snorkeling location. At the site, each person receives a wetsuit and snorkeling equipment. A PADI Divemaster or instructor leads groups of up to six participants. The wetsuit allows snorkelers to dive underwater, which is popular with scuba divers who do not have certification for drysuit diving. Visibility in Silfra’s clear water exceeds 100 meters. Underwater photos taken during the snorkeling are included free of charge. After the activity, hot chocolate is served. Participants must be at least 12 years old, know how to swim, and be comfortable in water. Those over 65 need medical approval. Height and weight limits apply, and this information must be provided before the tour. Swimwear and a towel are required but not included. Weather-appropriate clothing is recommended, and participants should bring contact lenses or a prescription mask instead of glasses. Multiple groups may snorkel at the site simultaneously.
