Overview

This 9-hour small-group tour from Lisbon takes you to Sintra, Cascais, and Pena Palace with a maximum of 8 people and an English-speaking guide. The tour begins at Avenida da Liberdade in Lisbon before heading to Sintra's historic center, where you have about 75 minutes to explore on foot. During this time, you can sample traditional pastries like travesseiros - light puff pastries filled with almond and egg yolk cream - and Sintra cheesecakes from a bakery operating since 1862. Next, the route passes through Colares, a village known for its historic wine cellars and countryside views. Then, you stop at Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, where cliffs rise 150 meters above the Atlantic Ocean. You’ll also see the 18th-century Cabo da Roca lighthouse from the outside. The tour continues with views of Guincho Beach, a protected sandy coastline popular with surfers. In Cascais, you spend about 90 minutes in the historic center, a former fishing village turned resort with museums, gardens, and a marina. Here you can walk around and choose to have lunch or a snack. Finally, the tour visits Pena Palace, a 19th-century Romantic-style former royal residence. You get access to the Pena Palace Park and a guided tour of its courtyards. If you selected the option including palace entrance, you can explore the interior rooms as well. The tour returns to Avenida da Liberdade in Lisbon at the end. The vehicle has air conditioning, and the guide and driver remain with the group throughout the day.
