Overview

This 2- to 3-hour small-group walking tour in Washington DC offers three options focused on Capitol Hill’s key landmarks. Groups are limited to 15 guests for a more personal experience. The guide handles all reservations and entry, allowing participants to avoid lines. Choose from visiting the US Capitol and Library of Congress to see the main reading room, the Great Hall, and part of Thomas Jefferson’s original collection of over 6,000 books; or the US Capitol and Supreme Court to go inside the highest court and learn its history; or a combined tour of four Capitol Hill sites including the Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, and the Folger Shakespeare Library, which is rarely open to the public. The tour includes reserved access inside the US Capitol for a guided visit of the rotunda, crypt, and old House chambers. The walk also covers Capitol Hill’s neoclassical architecture and green spaces. Depending on the option, the Supreme Court is either toured inside or viewed from outside with an explanation of its functions. The Library of Congress visit highlights its architecture and historic book collection. All tours are led by a professional guide who shares stories about America’s political institutions. Gratuities are not included.
