Overview

This 90-minute mini cruise departs from Sperlonga harbor and sails slowly along the coastline inside the Riviera di Ulisse Regional Park, a protected marine reserve. The boat passes the Grotta di Tiberio, where guests can see the remains of Emperor Tiberius's villa and hear commentary about its historical importance. The route continues along the ancient Via Flacca, offering views of medieval towers dating back to the 1500s and natural limestone caves including the Bazzano and Capovento caves. The cruise reaches the Blue Grotto area, where there is a 30-minute stop for a swim break. Guests can swim or snorkel in the clear water near the cave, which features stalagmites and a cliff with fresh spring water flowing from it. Snorkeling equipment is provided except for the snorkel, which guests must bring. A ladder and pool noodles are available to assist swimmers. After the swim, the boat returns westward, passing Torre Truglia, a landmark tower and symbol of Sperlonga, with views of the town’s historic center. The tour ends back at Sperlonga harbor. The boat is equipped with a fresh water shower for rinsing off salt, a sunshade curtain covering all seated guests, and a skipper who provides narration about the local sights throughout the cruise.
