Overview

This 90-minute walking tour in St. Augustine offers a ghostly encounter at several haunted sites, including the grounds of the Old Fort, two local cemeteries, and other historic locations. The tour begins and ends next to the Oldest Wooden School House at 12 St. George Street. An experienced guide dressed in period costume leads the group through the narrow streets, stopping at the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, the City Gate, Tolomato Cemetery, and Hugenot Cemetery. Along the way, the guide shares a mix of spooky and lighthearted stories about the spirits said to linger in these places. The tour is limited in size to maintain a quiet atmosphere suitable for ghost watching and is family-friendly. Ghost hunting tools are not included but can be rented separately. Food, drinks, and gratuities are not included. Tours operate rain or shine but may be delayed or rescheduled if lightning is present. In case of rescheduling, guests receive vouchers valid for future tours, which must be redeemed directly with the operator’s office in St. Augustine.

A Ghostly Encounter’s policy regarding storms is as follows.
1. A Ghostly Encounter tours run regardless of rain. Florida’s weather can change quickly and unpredictably, and weather conditions are checked before every tour.
2. If lightning occurs nearby, the tour start will be postponed for 20 minutes to allow the storm to pass, then the tour will continue as scheduled.
3. Should lightning still be present after the delay, management may opt to reschedule the tour. Guests will be transferred to tours on the next evening or another date that suits the group.
4. If rescheduling is inconvenient, guests will receive a voucher valid for a future A Ghostly Encounter tour, depending on availability. To use the voucher, guests must present it in person at the St. Augustine office or speak directly with office staff to reschedule; third-party booking sites cannot be used. Vouchers must be brought to the office as lost or forgotten vouchers will not be accepted, but vouchers do not expire.
