Overview

This 5-6 hour bus tour of St Maarten begins with a 5-minute stop at Oyster Pond. The group then pauses for about 10 minutes at a balcony overlooking a nearby beach and surrounding islands, providing an opportunity for photos. The tour continues to Orient Bay Beach, where there is approximately 1.5 hours of free time to relax on the sand or visit local restaurants for drinks or beach rentals. After Orient Bay, the coach travels to Marigot, the French capital, for a 40-minute visit. Visitors can explore the market, try French pastries, shop at the West Indies Mall, or sample local food. While in Marigot, participants climb the steps to Fort Louis and spend about 20 minutes viewing the fort's artifacts and enjoying a panoramic view of the French side of the island. From Marigot, the tour proceeds to Maho Beach for one hour, a well-known spot to watch planes land and take off. The route then passes through Simpson Bay, an area noted for its restaurants and nightlife, before making a final 5-minute photo stop at Cole Bay Hill. Here, visitors can see the layout of Simpson Bay Marina, the airport, and nearby islands such as St Kitts, Statia, and Saba. It is possible to hike up to the large St Maarten flag for a 360-degree view. The tour ends in Philipsburg, where guests may choose to stay for shopping and sightseeing or return to their ship. Walking back to the ship takes about 12 to 15 minutes, or a taxi ride is available. The tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off, a driver/guide, air-conditioned transport, and unlimited beer, wine, soft drinks, and rum punch throughout the day. Lunch and gratuities are not included.
