This one-hour walking tour explores the only restored Gangster Era location in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area. Visitors walk through extensive caves carved into a hillside, originally mined in the 1800s. After mining ended, the caves were used as a mushroom farm before being converted into a restaurant casino during the 1930s prohibition era. The casino was a known gangster gathering place where a gangland murder was reported but never solved. Guides will point out bullet holes left as evidence of the violent past. The original 60-foot-long bar from the 1930s has been fully restored and is part of the tour. Restrooms and wifi are available on site. The tour is suitable for all ages but is recommended for children aged 5 and older due to attention span and restlessness considerations.
