Overview

This is a private 1-day tour in Switzerland starting from Zurich, lasting about eight hours. The tour begins with hotel pickup by a local Swiss guide and private transport. The first stop is a mountain village above Brunnen, where visitors spend around thirty minutes at a viewpoint overlooking Lake Lucerne and the Swiss Alps. Next, the tour continues to a village on Lake Lucerne in the canton of Uri, known for its Mediterranean-style palm, fig trees, and vines, combined with views of towering mountain peaks and rushing water. The group then visits Altdorf for about twenty minutes to see historic buildings nearly 900 years old and a notable church; Altdorf is also the birthplace of Wilhelm Tell. The journey proceeds through the canton of Uri toward Klausen Pass with approximately two hours allocated for stops along the way to explore hidden valleys, glacial rivers, and viewpoints. There is an optional hike to a favored village lasting around one and a half hours total. At Klausen Pass, the tour spends about two hours with several stops to enjoy alpine views and includes a visit to a cheese factory where traditional raclette is prepared outdoors. In summer, the alpine meadows here host over 1,000 cows. After Klausen Pass, the tour heads to Glarus for a thirty-minute visit to a hidden waterfall located in the UNESCO Sardona World Heritage Site, where it is possible to walk behind the waterfall. The final stop is in Bilten for twenty minutes at a well-known Swiss chocolate maker, offering chocolate tastings and the option to purchase souvenirs. The return trip follows Lake Zurich back to the hotel.
