Overview

This 4-hour cycling tour in Taipei begins with a traditional Taiwanese breakfast served at the meeting point, the Taipei Bike Works shop. After breakfast, participants ride bicycles through the city, guided by an English-speaking guide who shares information about local culture and history. The route includes stops at a Daoist temple inside a morning market, Shuanglian Market, the reconstructed east gate of the old city wall, and the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall where the changing of the guards can be observed. The tour continues past the Presidential Office Building, built during the Japanese colonial period, then to Longshan Temple, one of Taipei's most visited temples. Riders also visit Dadaocheng Pier Plaza, a former main shipping port now used as a ferry terminal with views of New Taipei City and the Yangming mountain range. The route includes Dihua Street, an old trading area known for herbs, fabrics, and teas, and finishes at a temple famous for its tea and its reputation for blessing visitors' love lives. The tour includes the use of bicycles, helmets, rain jackets, water, tea, and coffee. Participants meet at the bike shop located at No. 9, Lane 70, Section 2, Chongqing North Road, Datong District. During summer (July 8 to September 30), the tour starts at 8 AM with a 7:50 AM meeting time and returns by 12 PM. The guide may cancel or postpone the tour if there is severe weather or if fewer than three people join. E-bikes and child seats are not provided.
