Overview

This private day trip from New Delhi covers three important Mughal landmarks: the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Itmad-ud-Daulah Tomb. The tour begins with a pickup at your chosen location anywhere in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, or Faridabad. Travel to Agra takes about three hours on the Yamuna Expressway in a private air-conditioned car. Stops for restroom or snacks can be arranged along the way upon request. Upon arrival near the Taj Mahal, a guide will meet you at a point just two minutes from the monument. You will enter the Taj Mahal with skip-the-line access and spend about three hours exploring this white marble mausoleum built by Shah Jahan for Mumtaz Mahal. The guide explains the architectural styles and history behind the monument. After the Taj Mahal, enjoy a lunch at a 5-star hotel offering diverse cuisines and service. Following lunch, the tour continues to Agra Fort, where you will again skip the queue to enter the 16th-century red sandstone fortress built by Emperor Akbar. You will spend about an hour touring its palaces, halls, mosques, and gardens, learning about its role as a royal residence and military base. Optionally, the tour includes a visit to the Itmad-ud-Daulah Tomb, known as the Baby Taj, for about an hour. This smaller mausoleum was commissioned by Nur Jahan for her father and is considered a precursor to the Taj Mahal. The return trip to Delhi is in the same private car, running on CNG fuel. You will be dropped off at your chosen place in Delhi or nearby cities. The entire excursion lasts approximately 12 hours and can be scheduled flexibly at your convenience.
