Overview

The Tangyue Memorial Archway Complex is the largest and best-preserved group of Ming and Qing dynasty archways in China. It consists of seven stone archways from the Ming and Qing dynasties, arranged in order of "loyalty, filial piety, integrity, and righteousness," and is a valuable historical relic for studying Ming and Qing politics, economy, culture, and the development of Huizhou merchants. Bao Family Garden is a private garden of Bao Qiyun, a famous salt merchant of the Qing Dynasty. It is known as the "Mother of Oriental Gardens" and is famous for its exquisite bonsai.
