Overview

The Taste of Africa Food Tasting Experience takes place over three hours in two Johannesburg neighborhoods known for their African communities and cuisine: Yeoville and Maboneng Precinct. The tour begins in Maboneng, a neighborhood known for its art, culture, graffiti, and variety of African foods, with available start times at 12pm or 5pm. Later, the group visits Yeoville around 3pm, a diverse suburb with many African nationals living within a small area and a history of migration into South Africa. During the experience, guests taste at least four dishes representing six African countries: South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The tour includes pick-up and drop-off transportation, a host to guide the tasting, lunch, and all meals served during the event. Guests may add an African beer tasting to their booking to sample beers from across the continent. Note that Ubers are not allowed in these areas, so guests must arrange transportation with the host before the tour.
