This full-day private 4X4 tour begins with a morning pickup at 7:30 AM from either Djerba or Zarzis. The first stop is a photo break at Sebkhet el Melah salt lake, known for its changing colors and unique landscapes. Next, the tour heads to Tataouine for a coffee break and a visit to the local market. The tour continues with a visit to Ksar Ouled Soltane, a traditional Berber collective granary site located off the usual routes. Afterward, the group travels to Chenini, an ancient Berber village built into a ridge, where a guided walk lasting about one hour reveals troglodyte homes carved into the rock and the village’s historical layout. Additional time can be spent here if desired. Lunch is served in Guermassa before visiting two more fortified granaries: Ksar El Ferech and Ksar Hadada. Ksar Hadada features one-story granaries with domed roofs and arched supports typical of Berber architecture, with terraces offering views of the surrounding area. This site was also a filming location for the movie Star Wars. After the activities, the tour returns to Djerba or Zarzis for drop-off at the original pickup point. The tour lasts about 10 hours and includes private transportation in a 4X4 vehicle, bottled water, lunch, and air conditioning inside the vehicle.
