Overview

Travel right back in time with us. The date is December 16, 1773. Prepare to relive one of the most monumental events in the history of the USA. It was on this night that a group of colonists organised what is now known as the Boston Tea Party. In fact the group were so enraged by what they considered to be unfair taxation laws that they reacted by hurling more than 300 crates of tea into the harbour in protest. This emblematic moment in history has been said to represent one of the first events which led to the American Revolutionary War. Discover the floating Boston Tea Party Ships and museum where you will see authentically restored replicas of the original tea ships and an array of fascinating exhibits that are fully interactive. Re-enact the momentous occasion as our museum guides take on their roles as indignant colonists. See an original tea chest that has been passed down over the generations for some 230 years. Watch an informative film which enlightens you about all the action before you pop in for a nice cup of tea at Abigail's Tea Room.
