Overview

The tour begins with a pick-up from the traveler’s accommodation in Mexico City and transport to Teotihuacan. Upon arrival, breakfast is served either on a terrace overlooking the Pyramid of the Sun or inside a natural cave. This meal includes traditional Mexican dishes and takes place in a distinctive setting. After breakfast, the group visits a local artisans’ cooperative where the guide explains cultural aspects such as the maguey plant and its uses, including pulque production. The visit includes a tasting of regional drinks like pulque, tequila, and mezcal, and an opportunity to view and purchase certified replicas of museum pieces made from natural minerals. Following this, the tour continues with a guided exploration of the Teotihuacan archaeological site. Visitors can climb the Pyramid of the Moon and see murals, the Pyramid of the Sun, and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl. The guide provides detailed commentary throughout the visit. The archaeological zone portion lasts between one to one and a half hours. The day concludes with a workshop where participants learn to make their own chocolate using cacao.
