This 8-day small group tour travels from Lhasa to Everest Base Camp by comfortable van or minibus. The trip includes visits to main cultural sites in Lhasa such as Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkor Street, Drepung Monastery, and Sera Monastery. The tour also covers important sites outside Lhasa including Gyantse Kumbum and Tashi Lhunpho Monastery in Shigatse. Along the way, you will see natural landmarks like the sacred Yamdrok Tso lake and Karo Glacier. The itinerary ends at Everest Base Camp, where you can view Mt. Everest, the world’s highest peak. Transportation includes an experienced local driver and all gasoline costs. Accommodations are provided in hotels with breakfast included, based on twin-sharing in Lhasa and Shigatse. The tour includes breakfast daily and one welcome dinner in a local restaurant when the group meets in Lhasa. Drinking water is supplied on the trip. A Tibet Handy Map, Tibet Travel Permit, and all entrance tickets for listed sites are included. Winter care service is available from mid-November to mid-February, providing a hot water bottle and electric blanket at Rongpuk Guest House. An English-speaking Tibetan guide accompanies the tour, and oxygen cylinders are available in the vehicle for altitude support. Pickup and drop-off services at Lhasa airport or train station are included, along with platform service fees and necessary government taxes.
