In the late Qing Dynasty, Zhao Yishuo, the owner of a Piaohao (historical Chinese financial institution) in Pingyao Ancient City, mortgaged his entire fortune to protect a descendant of Manager Wang from the Russian Far East. The Tongxinggong Escort Agency sent 232镖师 (bodyguards) on the mission. Seven years later, Zhao himself, along with all 232 bodyguards, died en route, while the Wang family's bloodline was preserved. Director Wang Chaoge uses this soul-stirring story to express the spirit of benevolence and righteousness of the people of Pingyao and the importance that Chinese people place on the inheritance of bloodlines, showcasing the continuous cultural essence of our nation.
