by Sushi Making Tokyo Cooking Class in Japan
This three-hour cooking class takes place in a local restaurant about five minutes from a central Tokyo subway station. Participants begin by preparing authentic Japanese ramen, focusing on making a rich broth and tender chashu pork. The class then moves on to making classic nigiri sushi, a fundamental style in Japanese sushi tradition. Alongside the cooking, participants enjoy a carefully selected sake pairing set designed to complement the dishes prepared. All ingredients for the cooking and meal are provided, as well as a selection of drinks including the sake. An English-speaking instructor guides the class throughout the session, explaining each step and providing cultural context. Hotel pickup and drop-off are not included.
Tsukishima Cooking Studio
Participants enter a small kitchen in Tsukishima, located 4 minutes from Tsukishima Station, where the Japanese team provides a personal welcome. Over 2.5 to 3 hours, they learn to make authentic ramen from broth to hand-formed toppings, roll and plate nigiri sushi with an option to torch fish for those preferring cooked, and taste three types of premium sake chosen by a certified sake sommelier. They sit down to eat their creations with unlimited Japanese beer and soft drinks. Each receives an English recipe card and professional photos. The class is conducted in clear English.
