This four-hour and ten-minute tour in Kawasaki offers an authentic sumo experience inside a real sumo stable, also called the sumo sanctuary. The tour begins with entering the stable, where a certified MagicalTrip guide explains the history and traditions of sumo wrestling and provides tips for watching official sumo matches. Participants can watch sumo wrestlers train and, if they choose, take part in a friendly sumo match with a rikishi wrestler. This opportunity is open to women and children. After the training session, guests help prepare chicken dumplings for chanko-nabe, a nutritious dish eaten by sumo wrestlers to build strength. The group then shares this lunch together with the wrestlers. The guide takes photos throughout the experience, and each participant receives a specially designed T-shirt as a keepsake. The sumo stable is conveniently located about ten minutes from Yokohama Station, twenty minutes from Tokyo Station, and thirty minutes from Shinjuku Station. Additional food and drinks beyond the sumo wrestler’s lunch are not included in the tour price.

We will meet at Shin Kawasaki Station. Your guide will share how Sumo wrestlers live in real life and the tradition and history of Sumo. Meet your local guide at the Shin-Kawasaki station and head to the real Sumo stable, which was officially used until 2022. First, your guide will explain the unique lifestyle and customs of the sumo world, followed by a room tour to see the dining room, bath, and practice area, where you can get a glimpse of the lives of sumo wrestlers. Afterwards, you will be seated right in front of the sumo ring to watch a morning sumo practice session. Usually, Sumo morning practice begins around 7:00 a.m. and lasts for three to four hours, and a unique training session has continued since the Samurai era. Guests who wish to participate will have the opportunity to experience these movements with us and see firsthand how rigorous the training is. After the match, we will eat Chanko-Nabe together, a dish that makes a sumo wrestler's body big. We make chicken dumplings, the main ingredient of the chanko-nabe, with the wrestlers, and everyone eats together around a table that was actually used in the sumo room.
